A Love Poem

This poem was inspired by my love for a hop farmer and a poem called Hops by Boris Pasternak that you can read here.

He is the poet, rooted deep within his Self

His words resonate

Nascent from chilled earth, she emerges

Her newly green leaves unfurl

He bows within reach, closer

His touch unexpected, gently teases.

Inhaling her sweetness

And a sense of wildness

Her nature twining and tough

Like ribbon she wraps round

Twisting, tenacious

Intertwined, bine and branch

Together they rise

Rays penetrate leaves

To cleanse the melancholy, warmth weaves

Heat

Through this natural embrace

  3. Oh yeah Tracey I forgot to ask if you are working all summer. I am going to the Yukon, driving up Prince George way. Going middle of July for 10 days. Sure would love your company and Mary would be thrilled.
